My New Year resolution is accomplished !

Now I am legitemately one of you the PriusCentis ! I did purchase my own Prius ! ( No more company-Demo Prius ) Nor-the "BabySitting" My customers Prius when they leave for vacations & then I get to drive one.

Now I'm the proud owner of a 04 ( Used ) package #6 Prius in Salsa Red !
Ready to install the "Two-Toned-Leathers" and the " SunRoof " it came to me by a friend departing back to his Motherland.

Now I can preach evangelistically more so for the dessimination of this wonderful technology-laden and the most earth enviromentally friendly vehicle, the Toyota Prius.

I ask all of you now and into the future to please share your knowleadge in educating me further and polish my preaching skill ( Selling the Prius )
and other Toyota Hybrids coming soon and in the horizon.

Now I'm going to the Gym to start the New Year Healthy driving my "new" Prius ( Albeit Used One ) to see how it feelsand drives. I'm going to check it out ! You know it_is_different_ than driving somebody else's Prius...
I'm going to evaluate it from an "Owners" perspective. More on this topic after the work-out !

Welcome to the cult! 8)
now that you're a bona fide owner, you're going to be even more enthusiastic... and i don't know if that's even possible!!

congrats- prius owners enjoy having other prius owners working at the dealer. prepare for all sorts of questions, that's what DH gets all the time... :)
Thanks everyone for wellcoming me to the Prius owners ! circle....

Now a brief personal perspective: Took my new aquisition Salsa Red #6 BC packaged Wunder-Boy for a drive to the Gym. The traffic on I 680 were light and everyone were doing 75~80 mph.

So I was just cruising with-in the flow of traffic. Started up ( Cold Engine ) Drove 5~6 miles before could go on ramp to I 680, A/C on and Raining day. Arrived at the "Club Sport" the Gym at 13 miles on the trip meter. Glanced at the consumption screen and saw 48.9 MPG combined ! Wow I said, what will it have been if I had driven at speed limit of 65 mph ? Hmm, let me try the return trip home to see how I do !

Couple of hours later I'm returning home. Again cold engine drove 12 blocks to merge to I 680 this time I set the "Crise Control" again but can not endure the 65 mph ! People passing me right and left so I had to "Gunned it Down" and bring speed cruise up to 75 mph firm.

Remembered that have had no hair cut for 5 weeks ! Better get off before my exit and head towards down town "Danville" but the Hair Cut place that I "frequent" is Closed ! I shoul have figured that out today is Jan 1st but then I said to myself, OK let take the suburb streets back home and see what this "Baby" can do as mpg-wise ?

It took me about 22 blocks making right and left and right anfd left turns to arrive to my destination and saw.......A "Whopping" 56.2 mpg combined ! is that possible ? the battery SOC bars were from right to left at 2.5 full ! Hmm intriguing .... More report later... It is a very different feeling.

I drove these Prius since the classic Prius days and now the HSD Prius but never, again, never was I so attentive loking over MPG or SOC as I had done when deliverying new Prius to my customers ! Now I don't want to drive my 97 Twin Turbo 6 Speed Manual Supra any more ! It is going to be sitting inside the garage for a long time !

Now for the all important question ... how much of a discount did you give yourself?

Read it Carefully, it is not "New" it is a 04 ! 2nd hand purchase !
Congratulations, Rickey. And thanks for enabling my New Year's resolution by delivering my 2006 Seaside Blue Prius [Package #7] yesterday afternoon. I'm still wading through the manuals documenting all this new technology -- GPS navigation, Bluetooth phone integration, a lovely AUX connector for my iPod, the rear-view camera... Maybe I'll spend the day in my driveway, leafing through the documentation and tapping on-screen buttons.
Happy New Year and congratulations to you new Prius owners. I remember the excitement vividly, though it's been nearly 10 months for me. :D
You go C. Rickey. Salsa red, you devil. I really get a kick out of your
enthusiasm. And like I did for Tom, I would like
to volunteer to fly out and help you count the money
from all those 06's!.

And...if you keep dropping those pounds at the Gym,
your mileage will improve even further!

Congratulations

I have been going to the club/gym for a swim almost every other day for the last 12 years. In Jan, right after NYears it becomes incredibly crowded. That lasts for about 2 months. In March the NYears resolution folks start to drop out, and by April the crowd is back to about normal. It is like clock-work.

So, Rickey you have 2 resolutions. Driving your P* will be the easy one, and keeping up your workouts will be the challenge ! Good Luck on both.
congrats on ur pri!
enjoy the ride! & welcome to the club~ i'm sure u will be very happy! & who cares if its an '04?!! its a 2G & thats all that counts....the both of you will get acquainted & have a wonderful time together.... have fun... & happy 2006! :D

Yes it is different, Rickey, and I am worried about you. These are all signs that your pre-ownership enthusiasm is morphing into a clear case of addiction, in other words, you are acting like an "mpg junkie". Please review the below posting before going any further (you are already letting your appearance go...5 weeks without a haircut  )

http://www.priusonline.com/viewtopic.ph ... mpg+junkie
Oh Hi: Polar Bear ! No, actually I do not drive "Sedate" at all. I always drive with-in the traffic flow meaning, here in CA Freeways" everyone is "Cruising" at 15 mph over posted max speed. So I always set the "Cruise" to 10 mph over the limits but still slower than the "Others"
Also I do not give much of "Priority" to Penny-Pinching gas mileage driving style ! I just drive without thinking or conciously trying to maximise fuel economy. I take the MPG that my "New" 04 Prius will give me and be happy at that. I will not be worried 'cause Winter temp dropeed or Summer temp needs the A/C. I will be driving the way I always drove, Go with the Force. I mean with the Flow ! Love my Prius !!
