Does anyone know how to replace the driver side headlight bulb, on a 2005 Prius, without removing the bumper cover as I have seen online. It looks like it can be done from the engine bay, if the fuse box were removed. But that doesnt seem easy either. Any thoughts/links would be helpful.
Thanks

I have had to replace mine. Or I should say, I had to enlist the help of a friend with a really small hand. The back cap is a real pain in the .... I have been told that do to the heat the lamp generates it presses the air out of the lamps housing and causes a bunch of vacuum. I almost broke that black rear cover just trying to force it to turn using a screwdriver shaft but finally got it open. Then you got to make sure you don't touch the glass of the new bulb when you take it out of the package, get it into the housing and try like heck to get the spring that holds the bulb in, while doing it by feel, as with the hand in there you can't see what you are doing. That took just about as long as the removal of the back cover. I am tempted to drill a hole in the back cover next time I have to do it to see if that helps in removing it. Then I can glue it back closed before I put it back on. Getting the back cover back on is a piece of cake. I have also been thinking of just taking it to some non-Toyota service center to see if they will do it for me after I show him the video on how to do it. I'm sure you have seen the same video I have, they make it look so simple, heck there was even one where some girl mechanic did it. The secret to almost all the vids I saw wat that they all had a lot small arms and hands than I do.
