I was wondering if anyone out there could enlighten me. I've been looking at the Prius since late 2002, and was totally enamored by the '04 model(who wasn't? ).

Does anyone know if they will use a similar stereo to the 03 model, and is it possible to get the Premium Sound System (6CD), but be able to jack in external input? I have an MP3 player I'm quite fond of, and would like to be able to use.

Absolutely no idea with the '04. Redesigned, and not out yet...

For the 2001-2003, you can get CoastalETech's aux-in cable:

If you get Harry's Jensen CD/MP3 player, that also comes with an aux-in jack.

My husband has been using a Sony cassette tape adapter for connecting his iPod to my 2001 Prius. For use in his Saturn (AM/FM/CD, only aux-in is in the trunk), he uses an iRock FM adapter.

mrv, thanks for the help. The CoastalETech patch cable looks like a great option. I was trying to avoid the FM modulator if possible, it hurts the sound.
