Default I picked up the demo Prius yesterday for a two-day test driv

What fun!!! All three carseats fit across the back seat, which was a potential dealbreaker for us. We had so much fun driving it around, having the nav system tell us when to turn, and watching the fuel consumption go up and down depending on how we were driving.

Is anyone here using their Prius as a family car? We have three young kids and we're currently driving an 00 Camry. We were debating about a Sienna, but I have real guilt about driving something that uses so much gas when there is another alternative.

Will hauling three kids around all the time decrease mileage a lot? (They're skinny kids.)

It seems like if gas prices stay this high, it won't take too awfully long to make the extra money in purchase price back in gas savings. Plus it's so cool.

A TWO day test drive? wow, how nice for you, I was lucky to get a 5 minute drive...lol. I also was impressed with how much room there was, especially in the back seat since I have three children also. I am getting a prius for my daily commute car so I can sav my truck for towing the boat on weekends.... (yes, its an SUV, but no compact car can haul a boat so there are reasons for owning one )

I think it won't be too much longer until you find that a new market will appear for the Prius and they won't be purchasing a hybrid for the gas milage but for the automotive technology which is years ahead of the industry. Thats why I bought mine because I lost interest in all the other look and act alikes.
