Replied in Q&A. As you are in Torrance you might take the trip east to Toyota of Claremont for work? I had good experience with their staff in fact that's where I got a new ECM.

As I said they wanted me to pay but I had a fit. They car is getting fix now. Here is what the problem is and it totally makes since now. A coolant flows thru the inverter to cool the electrical unit. Well my pump failed and my inverter has been over heating. Thats why it only fails when Ive been on the freeway for awhile. The reason Ive lost total power is because once the inverter overheats it stops charging the batteries both of them drain. It crashes like a computer as I drive it I had to pull over and restart the car. So That is what was wrong with my car

Thanks for the info. It's this type of info we are all looking for as the cars "age." There are so many small things that when failing can make big impacts on major systems.

You are Welcome If anything else happens to my baby I will come back here for answers. I hope my problem and solving of it will help other owners in the futrure because Im sure this will happen to the newer models as they age. The cost with labor was $453.00 but I had a warranty that will expire this month. So I was desprate to have it fixed now. Only one mechnic at the dealer knew the prius. His names is Marcos so ask for him 1st if you go to them which Im sure a few pruis owners do because they drive them to downtown LA for work and leave them for repairs while in the office working.
