Default How accurate is fuel monitor

I got my 2017 prius two months ago. Am a little disappointed in the mpg. I've driven very conservatively, trying to tweak every mpg out of it. I was expecting to find at least 50, but have averaged 45 mpg so far.

I find it a little odd that I cruise around town below 30 mph and the onboard display shows 5 - 10 mpg. I cruise at 70 mph on the freeway while it shows 90 - 100 mpg.

Default That's not bad

The couple of examples that you gave are what you are getting right that second. If you are accelerating from a top or while increasing speed it will be low, like your 5 to 10 MPG. And if you are going at a steady speed and are on flat ground (something or are decelerating you will get that higher MPG. If you want to see the average you have to view the other screen. Your lucky your getting 45. I own a 2005 Prius an it only has 69K miles on it and I have consistently gotten an average of about 39MPG.
