Default TOYOTA's Plug in HV; 3rd gen Plug-In Hybrid adopted.

Toyota gets OK from Ministry of Transport for its 3rd gen plug-in hybrid.
However, the battery still remains Nickel-Metal hydride for the time beeing.

EV mode operation is good to 8+ miles per 1.5~3.0 hrs charge?
EV mode top speed 100kph, about 62 mph?
Secondary battery cell, 6.5Ah×2(13Ah)?

More detail on the way;

That's not a 110VAC wall socket it's plugged into there. The specs read 1 to 1.5 hours at 200 volts or 3 to 4 hours at 100 Volts and that it will work with household electricity. I am assuming the adapter cord will plug into a wall socket for use at home by the time the get the consumer version.

8 miles would cover my one way commute, and I could re-charge at work. I'm ready to trade in now.

I took the liberty of translating the specs:

I took the liberty of comparing the stats Alyosha (thanks) gave for the Plug-in Prius and made a comparison to the second generation Prius (reported in the stats difference as PRIUS II or as SAME) for the mere mortals among us. The PRIUS II includes model years 2004 to 2008 for those who don't know and is also known as second generation Prius.

In summary, the plug-in Prius is 60lb. heavier (2% increase), double the battery power (100% increase), and provides an additional 24hp (22% increase).

Length/Width/Height (mm): 4,445 / 1,725 / 1,490 (175in/67.9in/58.7in) [SAME]
Weight: 1,360kg (2,992lb) [2,932lb. PRIUS II]
Seating Capacity: 5 [SAME]

EV Mode:
EV mode range: 13km
EV Max speed: 100km/h [66km/h PRIUS II - 41mph]

IC Engine:
Displacement: 1,496cc [SAME - 1.5 liters]
Output: 56kW(76hp)/5,000rpm [SAME]
Max. Torque: 110 N・m (11.2 kg・m)/4,000rpm [SAME - 82 lb.-ft.]

Electric Motor: Permanent magnet AC synchronous motor [SAME]
Output: 50 kW(67hp)/1,200~1,540rpm [SAME]
Max Torque: 400 N・m(40.8 kg・m)/0~1,200rpm [SAME - 295lb.-ft.]

Secondary Battery (Traction Battery): Nickel Metal Hydride [SAME]
Capacity: 6.5Ah×2(13Ah)[6.5Ah PRIUS II]
Voltage: 202V [SAME]

System
Maximum output: 100kW(134hp)[82kW (110hp) PRIUS II]
System voltage: 202~500V [SAME]
External Power requirement: Household electrical current
Charge time:1~1.5hours (200V)、3~4Hours (100V)
