Default touring model to be discontinued?

Have any of you heard that the touring model will be discontinued for 2008?
Seems there was rumor out there of that happening but since are so close to the 2008 model year wouldn't Toyota announce the change already (don't they have to reconfigure their factories? even though both trims are very similar, there are differences).

Dealers, any word?

A recent post says that the Touring model will continue to be offered in the 2008 model year...

I confirmed with my dealer a couple of days ago that there will be a Touring edition for 2008. Keep in mind that the option packages for the Touring varies by region. For example, in my area I can't get a Touring model with NAV or BT. I think that's the main reason they don't sell well here.

Touring models will be here definetely for the 1st 08 Prius launch.
The only package available for the Touring model is the NR #6 package.
However, Toyota reserves the right to keep producing the Touring model or at any time terminate the production of the same, without prior notice.
