Default APR prius financing for graduating college student?

Hi, I currently want to buy a new prius with option 5. Im looking at around 24000 according to carsdirect.com and i know most dealers match their prices. Anyways, how much do you guys think my apr for 60 or 72 months would be if im a first time car buyer about to graduate college? I would be leaving a 4-5k down payment by the way.

Your APR will probably be based on your credit score, so we can't really tell you for sure unless you fill it out. There is however, a Toyota deal they have for new college graduates, here is the link to Longo Toyota that has the info (from Toyota Financial Services, which should be applicable at any Toyota Dealership).

http://www.longotoyota.com/en_US/ (click on Finance - > College Graduates)

Seems there is an online credit application form too so maybe you could find out from doing that application (?).

You also might want to post where you are, some local dealerships do visit us here on the forums and offer additional discounts to forum members.

You will be much happier in ten years if you buy a used car now. Don't piss away your money.

I love my Prius, but I'm with Richard. We live in a capitalist society, which means it favors those who acquire capital. Paying interest on a depreciating asset is a dead weight on your household budget - to be done only when necessary.

If you get on the interest treadmill, you'll be workin' for the man every night and day.

haha. thanks for helpful links and advice guys. so im set already on buying a prius ....i have been since they came out. Im going to get my dad to co sign so that they give me a better apr....but i wonder if they will still offer the college program.

so $24000 (including 500 rebate for college program) for 2007 prius with package 5 is not bad. im gonna leave about 4-5k down payment. im hoping to get a 5-7 apr and nothing higher.....wish me luck guys.

Good luck. If someone you know (or you yourself) has an account with the credit union, they usually have better loan APRs than the actual dealerships.. worth a shot.

That $500.00 college graduate rebate is advertised by most of the large car dealers here. When questioned about it you will find that if asked, any customer off the street can get it.
Good luck with the Prius. (It's not exactly "gal bait.")

I resent Hyperion's last comment. All my girlfriends that have ridden in the car with me LOVE the car. In fact one of my very close ones almost got one herself (but found she couldn't afford it) and have found many want to get one eventually. The kind of girls you get based on what car you drive, aren't the type you necessarily want to keep for long anyways

Hyperion's just projecting based on his experience with the Prius!

And knownasmichael - best of luck with your car!
