Default Will the anti-theft drain my battery

I'm going away for an extended trip. The car is completely safe. Can I temporarily disconnect the anti-theft to avoid it's drain on the battery?

The SKS entry system is one thing that will discharge your 12V battery more quickly in the 2004-2009 model years. Check your manual to find the switch do disable that if you are going to park the car for a week or more. There will still be power drain even with the SKS system turned off.

I have parked my 2004 at the airport (not equipped with SKS for a bit over a week with a good 12V battery. Some Prius models were not equipped with SKS.

If you have to insert the key fob to start the car you either do not have that option or it is turned off.
