Default Toyota brand (not surprisingly) is #1 in sales is California

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-a ... &cset=true

"In its first published look at new-vehicle registrations in the state, the California Motor Car Dealers Assn. found that in the second quarter, Toyota-brand cars and trucks accounted for 23.4% of all sales, followed by Honda at 12.4%.

The strong performance of the Japanese brands put them ahead of overall U.S. market leaders General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. The Ford brand was third in California in the second quarter, with a 9.6% share, and GM's Chevrolet followed at 8.2%..."

Do keep in mind that for the entire US, GM is still the # in sales. An example of national sales stats are at http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar ... 20413/1148.

Hi, guys & gals,

Yes, they are breed'g like crazy but unfortunately the whelping box is still only in Japan (for our cars), so many of us can't get our pick of the litter (our preferred option Pkg).

A few weeks ago I was travel'g on Rt 2 w [a major STATE route but NOT Interstate (those read'g this in Connecticut will know it)], when ahead I spotted 2 Priuses, one behind the other in the same lane. They had lic. plates from 2 different states so not likely family travel'g together. I just had to pass them (so they would notice) & pulled into their lane to take the lead. We drove for a number of miles together before they each broke off at their respective exits. It was really fun seeing other drivers' reactions as they passed our line-up of 3 different colored Priuses.
