Do you wear a seatbelt when driving? -- Not sure why you want to defeat safety features.
Please, explain your goal in performing these mods...
Sorry if you are offended at the question. If you prefer not to answer, that's OK. As a new forum member, I am just trying to figure out where you are coming from.
To answer your previous query, you could just locate the beeping device and cut the wires. However, I recommend that you ask your Toyota dealer how to properly disable the beeping.
Also, in my opinion, NO -- I cannot think of any time when someone should operate a vehicle without a seatbelt on.
I would caution against making seemingly simple modifications to a Prius. The hybrid electronics and various sensors are often interconnected, and the Prius' systems are fairly complex. Altering or disabling functions could cause unexpected results.
As with any new vehicle, it would be wise to study the owners manual and learn how the various systems are supposed to work before attempting any aftermarket mods. You may find that adapting your driving habits to the Prius' advanced systems will work better than modifying a new hybrid vehicle to match your previous car. Needless to say, your Prius and a 1969 Chevelle are on the opposite ends of the vehicle spectrum; so you may need to adjust your expectations a little.
Note: If you drive your Prius like you drive the Chevelle, don't expect to get the maximum fuel economy it is capable of delivering. While your Prius mileage will undoubtedly be significantly higher, the techniques to squeeze the most miles out of each gallon of gas are vastly different from those you would use with your Chevelle.
As an aside, over the years, this site has suffered from Toyota- and Prius-bashers, trolls and SPAM; and there are very few members who are still active. Many of those who remain are also member of PriusChat.com, where you may find more current information on hybrid vehicles.
While all questions and comments are welcomed, and there is a lot of troubleshooting and repair experience and history on this site; odd, off-handed comments may result in no response, due to the number of trolls that frequently post here just to annoy members.
In any case, congratulations on your purchase; and WELCOME to PriusOnline!
