Default Tundra Hybrid?

Has anybody heard anything regarding the Tundra hybrid that is supposedly in the works? I love my Prius, but I miss the convenience of the huge truck I was forced to replace due to ever increasing fuel costs. a hybrid Tundra would the be perfect answer.

If anybody has heard anything, please let me know.

Thanks!!!

The closest would be the Toyota FTX concept truck at the auto shows. (the light blue one). It has a hybrid V8 powertrain and supposedly indicate the design (or design cues) of the next Tundra.

Don't you just love GM's new hybrid Silverado? For an extra $10,000 you gain 2mpg.

Yeah, 2008 seems like a good time. I'll be released after the diesel Tundra which is expected for 2007.

Tundra news over at ToyotaNation.com

It has been rumoured for quite a while. No, I think the diesel will be straight out diesel.

Yeah I had read they are trying to figure out which engine to mate with the HSD. They'd like to put a small engine in it, but they don't want to sacrifice towing capacity. It's the same problem they had with the Highlander which is why they settled on the 3.3L V6.
