It's true that there are lots of profit in the Extended Warranty & Pre-Paid Maintenance Service Contracts, esp. you paid at price asked by the dealer who sold you the Prius. Dealer offered me $700 off his asking price $1,999 for the 7 yr./ 100K $0 Deductible Extended Warranty Platinum program, and $995 for the 4 yr./55K Pre-paid Maintenance. When I find out on the Toyota's web site, it only costs $1,650, I called in and cancelled my Extended Warranty with that dealer. Then, I decided to search online for a better deal.
Here are 2 dealer offer the best deal,
1. Troy Dietrich of MA offered me the 7 yr./ 100K $0 Deductible Extended Warranty for $985, and the 4 yr./55K Pre-paid Maintenance for $670.

2. Tony Wright of Kansas offered me $905 for the 7 yr./ 100K $0 Deductible Extended Warranty, and $590 for the 4 yr./55K Pre-paid Maintenance.

Of course, I took Tony's offer, which is about another $170 off. I SAVED AT LEAST $700~$900 FROM THE OFFICIAL LSITED PRICE! All the dealers offer LOWER than the dealer that sold you the Prius. My friend bought his Prius several months ago from a San Francisco Bay Area dealer and his paid $1,200 for the 4 yr./55K Pre-paid Maintenance. That's double of my deal. I'm sure he is going to paid the $25.00 cancellation fee and buy a NEW the 4 yr./55K Pre-paid Maintenance for either Tony or Troy to save 50% for the same service contract.
