Hello.
I drove a 03 jetta TDI for 13 years (227k miles), but somewhat recently switched to a 2013 Prius v. I've got 2 kids, am a musician, and a carpenter so the cargo room of the v is utilized often. I hope to drive this car for another 13 years.
When I bought my jetta, I knew very little about cars, and nothing about diesel engines, but I learned and did most of my own maintenance on the jetta over the years. Now that I have the prius, I feel like I'm back to the drawing board in terms of my knowledge other than having the knowhow and confidence to change oil, filters, brakes etc. I learned a lot from a TDI forum while I was a TDI driver and hope to learn a lot from the prius forum now that I am driving a hybrid.
For those that live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where do you take your car for maintenance/repair. So far, I have only had to change the oil and filter, as well as the cabin and engine air filters. Also, this will be my first winter with the Prius. The Jetta was a manual and has great amount of torque, so it was fantastic for winter driving. How is the Prius in the winter?
Thanks and greetings from the star of the north.
