I haven't tried it yet, because my tray is full, but the "tray in the slot" trick will work only if you put the tray in the right way, so it's lip will let the cover "catch" on it to stay down.

You can put the car in Neutral in Ig-On, and quite frankly, that's the safest way to do it. When in Neutral in READY, the HV is engaged and draining for A/C and DC/DC converter, yet can't be charged; Neutral disables charging of HV. In Ig-On, you only risk draining the Aux, which for the short time you will be at the car wash, should not be a problem.

I covered my factory seats in neoprene for about half the cost of your leather (including side airbag vents), it's also not hot in the summer (well, not as hot). It works well, and I haven't had any problems with removing mud sweat and blood after a good bike ride.

It does take a bit of getting used to the feel when you climb in and out.

I never met anyone who was a magnetic drain plug. But maybe I did and they just didn't boast about it. It wouldn't seem to me they'd be the modest type, though.

Default tray in the slot

I've tried the tray in the slot every way and it only goes halfway down.

I've never tried the tray trick, either, but if it works, it SHOULD only go halfway down, so the armrest latches in a higher position.

Anyone actually try this? Mine's too full of junk.

I was so excited to get the suggestion to shut off the reverse beep. I immediately tried it on my 05 Driftwood, but no luck. I followed your instructions exactly multiple times, but never could get the odometer to switch to beep mode. I pressed the odometer button over 10 sec. and while pressing it moved the gear lever from park to reverse and let it got back to park. No luck. Any suggestions? This is the only thing I don't like about my Prius.

Deb,

Here's a link to other directions on how to do this. I haven't taken the time to compare them but you can turn off the beep in your car.

One other thing: You can't have someone sitting in the passenger seat when doing this (Or have weighty items).

As for the tray thing. Yeah, I tried it but it didn't work for me. Didn't like how the console box was open all the time (partially becaise it disrupted the streamline look of the interior) and because my arm wasn't level since the rear of the console is still low....

Cheers,
