Default 2010 Prius III Check Hybrid System

Driving in rush hour DC traffic yesterday and my prius (2010 III, 75Kmiles) shows the "Check Hybrid System" light and lost power. I made a lot of people angry on the 14th street bridge. It would start, but the light on the push button was red, error message remained and had no power. Called for a tow and it is now at a dealership.... awaiting the phone call. I have read a lot online about this error, hoping it is something under warranty, but know it probably wont be. I found out there was a recall on the IPM, so maybe that's it? Maybe I will get some new batteries? Thoughts?

Dealer called me around 2pm yesterday, informed me it was the Inverter Power Module. He said it was over $5K to replace it and the parts needed to do it. Then the good news came, it is all covered under warranty. I went through my paperwork, I received a Warranty enhancement notice extending the warranty on the IPM to 15yrs unlimited mileage at some point, but it explicitly states that no action is needed unless there is an issue. He overnighted the parts and could have the vehicle done today. If he cant get it done today, he is going to get me a loaner vehicle at dealers expense. All in all, this is one of the outcomes I hoped for, but didn't expect.

I had the same issue, but my situation was worse, as I was driving in the middle of nowhere and they could hardly find me
