I have a 2004 Prius that had HID headlights. I replaced them with regular headlights after an accident. After several months the headlight level warning sign appeared. I removed the connector to the leveling sensor and found the terminals completed corroded. I disconnected the sensor and now have a constant level warning. Is there some way to defeat the sensor and have a nice quiet dashboard again?
You could try rebuilding your level sensor, since a working sensor seemed to avoid the dash light. May seem silly to fix a part you no longer need, but if you want the light out and don't want to take apart your dashboard to remove the lamp/LED...
If someone could use a VOM and measure the resistance with the car level, you could then solder in a fixed-value resistor in place of the sensor and thus have fixed-adjustment lamps without a warning lamp.
