Those codes came from the diagnostic screen, which can be accessed by a super-secret set of screen button-pressing that I've forgotten. But it is posted several places on the internet.
The secret screens are fun to see but the codes are essentially meaningless.
To get real codes tou need to plug into the diagnostic port by the driver's left knee. Generic code readers (mentioned above) will read the industry standard codes. Toyota also has some proprietary codes, so if something's really wrong you have to go see a Toyota shop.
Generic code readers start at about $60 and I hae now idea of some are better at Prius than others. Typically Toyota shops will charge about the same for their 5 minutes of work.
Adamb, you could disconnect the 12 volt ground lead for 5 minutes and then reconnect it. If the CEL comes back we're going to get the codes, one way or another.
