Last week I filled the tank and squeezed gas in until it overflowed - only the 2nd time I've done that in almost 3 years with my 04, and the first pip disappeared after 5 miles.
When I did the gas gauge TSB, the dealership told me that Toyota sets the gauges to start showing 1 blinker after 8 gallons are gone. So in theory almost 4 gallons are left at that pont. With the inconsistency of the amount of gas I can put in relative to how many miles I've gone, I haven't tested that theory. Eventually I will.
