I don't know what your chances of getting caught are, but for anyone else thinking this is easy, it's important information.

And yes, just about all the HID conversion kits on e-Bay are illegal.
Tell that to Acura Canada lol. None of their cars have headlight levelling (auto or manual)[/quote:fnv03t0a]

And Acura US? I was pretty sure most of their vechicles with HID were not autoleveling.

You might need a relay that energizes the lamps themselves, with diodes feeding the relay coil from the high beam/low beam light feeds.

It sounds though that you took power for the HID from the wrong place. The HIDs use the high/low feeds only for the shutter.

Default Re: Halogen to OEM HID conversion

am concerned about the aiming. It seems too low IMO, when I follow a car with 2 car lengths, the light won't even shine to the bottom of the car's rear bumper, and I've noticed that a BMW that was beside me with HID has his shining about half way on the bumper, so am I shinning too low? Or is it normal for HID?

My brothers car sets its lights to all the way down when he turns it off. When the car starts it decides where horizontal is and raises the lights. I would speculate that yours never gets the signal so it just sits in the full down position. It might be a safety feature. If you would care to document the procedure I feel it'd be useful to post, since you seem to be the first one to do it. How much did the parts cost you?

Hello All, I just got my 2014 w/ LED headlights. I'm interested in upgrading the headlights, high beams, DRL's , and fog lamps. Anyone know of whats available ? I drive a lot at night in the boonies and wouldn't like to hit anything crossing on a dark windy road.

I want to do just the opposite. REMOVE the P.O.S. HID lights and go with the H4 bulbs. Has anyone done this? I have a set of Halogen housings and some LED H4 replacement bulbs, but the problem I have is finding some regular good old 12 volts to run these babies. The HID has some super small wires running the ballasts and I am sure connecting to those will not work. Any help will be appreciated, I am ready to just tap off the battery and install a couple of switches and some relays...
