I do not know the answer, just listing a few of the most common changes between US and Euro models of other brands. And this may mean nothing if there is no requirement to retrofit.

- side marker lights ("parking lights")
- rear foglamp on driver's side
- general safety inspection (lights, brakes, rust, etc)

For the most part the Prius is a "world car" with little unique to the USA.

I am also curious on the difference between the US and the EU versions. Should make a great topic. I'm gonna write about this on my blog.

Hi all,
I actually have my USA-model 2007 Prius in Italy since August, and need to make it EU compliant to register it. The interesting thing is a EU-model 2007 Prius is fully compliant, but no one can tell me what differences there are between the "compliant" european model and non-compliant USA model. Toyota is especially unhelpful in this regard. If they told me the differences off the assembly line, then I could retrofit (with European parts) those items that are non-compliant (headlights?, tires?, etc.). I've searched, and found several individuals who successfully registered their american Pri in european nations, however there seems to be no consistent changes that were made. That is, some made no changes while others added lighting

It's only a guess, but the headlights are probably the component that needs to be changed.
